So you have heard Murphy's Law, the Law of Gravity, Law's of the Land, Law's of the Gospel, etc. But I would like to propose that there is another law.
The Mother's Law.
This law would intail some of the following. If you have just mopped the floor, a very sticky beverage will be spilled within 5 minutes of finishing.
If you have a 'dry clean only' blouse in the back of your closet that you reserve for evenings in which you will not be holding one of your dear children, by the time you put it on, give every one a hug goodbye, and get into the car somehow spit up, throw up, or the contents of a diaper will some how get on that blouse.
If you are grocery shopping, even if you have carfully written a list so you don't have to go back to the store later that same day, as you are finishing loading your dear children into the car you will suddenly remember that you are out of diapers, don't have any bread, and you are in charge of a salad for an enrichment meeting that night.
If you are trying to get a nap and have just gotten the last of your dearest children occupied, the first child you had gotten to sleep has now woken up from his nap.
This list is in no way all inclusive of this Mother's Law, but as these things keep happening to me it is comforting to know that it couldn't of been avoided.

Wonderful post. I guess these things happen because we are mothers.
