Change in career path

This past week 'T' was getting the boys ready for bed when 'D' was spinning and fell over right into the bed post and split his head open right above his eyebrow.

I was getting 'W' in bed, when 'A' came in frantically telling me that 'T' needed my help. I immediately felt worried because for 'T' to need my help with a head bonk means it is pretty serious. Because it was his head, it was bleeding pretty good, and 'T' needed me because 'A' was freaking out, refusing to even come into the bedroom.

But in contrast, 'P' was calmly sitting by 'D' handing 'T' wipes and watching intently everything that was going on. 'T' got 'D' bandaged up, but 'A' was really upset, more upset even than 'D' had been.

Thinking that 'A' was just worried for 'D' safety, I asked him what was wrong. But 'A' said that he was mad because he really wants to be a surgeon, but he couldn't stand seeing all of 'D's blood. And how can 'A' be a surgeon if he can't look at blood.

This may be a good time for 'A' to think of changing his career goal.

Blood is such a small detail when it comes to surgery. :)
